Biography

Tobias De Win was born on 16 April 1997 in Mechelen and is currently studying animation at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. Throughout his life, drawing was his passion and later on his fascination for film started to grow. Animation therefore seemed to be the best choice, so he could combine those two. Before his film education he studied visual arts in secondary education. Here he started to develop his own style, but when he started making animated film, he had to reinvent it completely. His work has been characterised for using intuition and improvisation. He often makes his work very personal and and he presents his life and emotions in an expressionist and poetic way trough film. He had the opportunity to show his bachelorfilm at the Cinamima festival (Portugal) and the Millenium International Documentary Film Festival (Brussels). His masterfilm has also been shown in various filmfestivals among which Breedbeeld Festival (Antwerp). In 2019, Tobias started his Educational Master in the Audiovisual Arts.
